Advanced Integrated Intrusion Detection System- PIDS

ACL 20. An Intelligent Optical Perimeter Intrusion Detection System

The ACL 20 system is a stand-alone, intelligent, optical perimeter intrusion detection system designed for high security and high value installations. The system distinguishes itself from other perimeter systems by using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) software to distinguish between true, false and nuisance alarms.

ACL 20 system uses eye-safe active infrared beams to create an invisible security barrier around the perimeter of the site that is to be protected. This 'fence' is created by spacing infrared beams horizontally on poles (SU's) installed along the perimeter (with electricity supply and a fibre-optic communication link to the gatehouse at each pole) to divide the perimeter in zones for ease of event location identification. A perimeter of many kilometres can be protected in this way.

ACL 20 3m Sensor Units (SU)

Synchronisation between the multi transmitter and receiver pairs of the sequential sensor units ensures that an event is detected when any of these beams are 'broken' anywhere on the perimeter. The latter can also be accomplished by several other security systems. However, by applying Artificial Neural Network (ANN) software that is incorporated in the ACL system, it will identify and classify the event (using the signal fingerprint stored in the classifiers) and will inform the operator as to real, false or nuisance alarms.
