Innominate mGuard

Innominate's security solutions enable protected communication via IP networks. The miniature security appliance Innominate mGuard, first introduced at the beginning of 2003, is the world's smallest security appliance with hardware-supported encryption for use in office and industry environments.

The Innominate mGuard products offer a range of security functions including VPN (virtual private network), firewall and optional virus protection - independent of the computer platform or the operating system used.

A close commercial relationship with famous Partners in security and security management business enables Innominate to offer state-of-the-art features to it's customers. The new anti-virus function for example provides the user with the highest level of security by automatic updating of the latest virus patterns from Kaspersky Lab, one of the world's most acclaimed anti-virus specialists. Furthermore Innominate customer's can make use of seamless integration of all Innominate mGuard products into the powerful security management tools provided by the network specialist SolSoft.

The compact design of the Innominate mGuard makes it perfect for office use and for the increasing number of mobile users. The Innominate mGuard PCI variant introduced recently however is qualified especially for an uncomplicated assembly in standard PCs or servers, where it works transparently for the user. Besides that the small size of the actual Innominate mGuard Core itself makes it easy to integrate this board into other appliances.

In September 2003, Innominate was awarded for its innovative solutions with the Wolfsburg AG Competence Prize in the category Information Technology.

Personal security appliance

Innominate mGuard professional is a new kind of miniature security appliance with hardware-based encryption. It offers protection of data communication in smaller and mid-sized networks.

Desktop PCs and servers in network structures are protected. Mobile employees' notebooks and tele-workstations are allowed secure VPN access to the firm network.

Innominate mGuard professional employs a hardened version of the Linux operating system with forward-looking security features. The Intel XScale-based network processor with hardware encryption module guarantees the highest level of performance with absolute stability.


The stealth mode developed by Innominate enables the problem-free integration of the Innominate mGuard professional in existing IP structures. This eliminates the time-consuming configuration of IP addresses and routing information. Interoperability with other VPN solutions is guaranteed through the support of the IPsec standard.

What's more, the Innominate mGuard professional has an extremely compact design - a real plus for mobile users and tele-workstations . With the integrated USB power supply, no additional mains adaptor is necessary.

The Innominate mGuard professional can be administered centrally with the Innominate Security Configuration Manager . Not only does this enable the problem-free management of several hundred Innominate mGuards, but also all security appliances in the network connected to the miniature firewalls - conveniently via drag & drop.

With the Innominate mGuard enterprise and enterprise XL, Innominate offers a unique firewall / VPN appliance in miniature format. Despite its compact size, it enables secure communication in networks.

In addition to the integrated stateful inspection firewall, the Innominate mGuard enterprise (XL) offers the entire range of possibilities of a professional VPN solution, based on the IPsec standard.

Encryption is carried out with DES, 3DES or AES. With its integrated hardware encryption, up to 70 Mbit/s VPN throughput can be attained.
