Mils File

MilsFile provides protection of files and folders. It is a Windows ® application that extends Windows-Explorer by adding encryption and decryption functionality. Its integrated "Wipe" function also supports reliable file deletion.

Features:

• MilsFile supports file encryption by using either the unbreakable One Time Key method or a proprietary stream cipher algorithm which meets the highest cryptographic security standards with regard to cycle length, degree of non-linearity and key length. File encryption with a customized block cipher algorithm is available as an option.

• Files or entire folders can be encrypted for private access (only the user who encrypted the file is can decrypt it) or shared access (the user grants a group of users permission to decrypt it).

• The integration of key storage, cryptographic algorithms and a true random noise generator in the Mils security controller (VLSI-ASIC) protects the secret keys against any unauthorized access.

• The integration of MilsFile into Windows-Explorer provides absolute file protection without leaving the familiar working environment.

• The "Wipe" function provides reliable file deletion by avoiding the limitations of the Explorer.

• Access to the MilsFile application is restricted to users in possession of a valid MilsCard and the corresponding secret password.

• Thanks to the high encryption speed, even large files can be protected with minimal delays.

• A MilsFile allows the decryption of encrypted MilsMail (MS Outlook extension) e-mails.

• If MilsFile is used exclusively for private file encryption, no support from the MilsAdministrator is required.
