The Cryptophone 7000, manufactured by TELSY, combines telephone functions with digital encryption for voice, data and fax in a single unit. The Cryptophone 7000 is the efficient and economical solution for communication security. Easy to use as a normal telephone, it provides all conveniences, such as a 100 number memory, quick dialing, last number redial, hands-free operation, status display in 7 languages, tone or pulse dialing etc. “Going-to-crypto” is fully automatic after just a push of a button on either side. Up to 16 user keys can be stored in encrypted form in a tamper proof memory.

A user identifier of up to 16 letters can be programmed as well. The user can easily introduce or change keys and identifier at any time. Key insertion, telephone and technical parameters modification are controlled either by mechanical key or by a hierarchy of passwords. The digital encryption algorithm guarantees a mathematically verifiable high security level. Voice quality in crypto is practically the same as in clear. In case of poor lines a fall-back to lower speed communication or a voice controlled halfduplex mode is automatic.

The Cryptophone 7000 includes an encrypted asynchronous 4800 bps modem with ARQ and error correction for secure data communication between PCs. Modem commands are Hayes compatible. When combined with a suitable facsimile machine the Cryptophone 7000 serves as a high security fax encryption device. The Cryptophone 7000 is entirely software based and therefore easily upgradable when new techniques or features become available, the best solution against obsolescence.

The companion unit Cryptophone 7900, designed for interconnection with suitable radiotelephones, extends the encryption to the cellular radio network, allowing secure communication also from a moving vehicle. The Cryptophone 7000 keeps dangerous radiations as low as military standards require. Excellent figures of MTBF and MTTR confirm the reliability and the ease of maintenance of the equipment.

The Allfax 3000 is a new generation stand alone in-line fax encryption equipment. Designed to be the efficient and economical solution for secure fax messaging, the Allfax 3000 can operate with any Group 3 fax machine. The equipment is extremely easy to use making operation transparent to the user and encryption automatic. Connection to the fax machine is easily made by inserting the Allfax 3000 between the telephone line wall plug and the fax machine. This allows encryption of facsimile messages without the need of a fax machine equipped with a special interface.

The available encryption algorithms guarantee a verifiable high security level. Customised algorithms can be tailored according to customers’ specific needs. To ensure compatibility with existing secure fax networks Telsy has designed Cryptophone encryption algorithms to serve that purpose. The integrated smart card reader/writer allows the equipment to perform user identification, sending and receiving parties authentication and controlled document print to the designated receiver only.

Other smart card based applications can be developped according to individual customer requirements. The Allfax 3000 includes the latest generation fax modems for secure fax message transmission and reception up to 14400 bps. Transmission both in crypto and in clear fully complies with ITU-T G3 standards, including ECM error correction.
